Sarah Kliff
Reporter
Sarah Kliff is one of the country’s leading health policy journalists, who has spent nearly a decade chronicling Washington’s battle over the Affordable Care Act. She is currently an investigative health care reporter at the New York Times. She has previously written for the Washington Post, Politico, and Vox.
Her reporting has led multiple hospitals to reform their billing practices and to cancel hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt. It has inspired both state and federal legislation, including the No Surprises Act, a law passed by Congress in 2020 to outlaw certain types of surprise medical bills that would often follow emergency care.
She is the recipient of multiple reporting awards, including fellowships from the Association of Health Care Journalists and the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California.
